Gaia and Ira - Independent Study Animation
(Collaboration)
A short animation my friend and I made. I played and sang the background music.
Animation : Hazem Asif and Mark Bermejo
Song : Heavy Rope (original by Lights, covered by Mark Bermejo)
This is an animation my friend and I made for an independent study class in senior year.
We explored the broad concept of belonging to a certain group of people/individuals but not really fitting in. The main character, Gaia, wants to leave her current situation/company and go to a place where she feels at home.
The 'chess' characters were designed by Hazem Asif and are meant to represent real people.
The story is set in a dystopian future, where people have colonized Mars and have abandoned Earth. Because of the dark past of the humans leaving Earth due to over-polluting it, the Earth has been forgotten and is now only a legend to the inhabitants of Mars.
The scenes shown are meant to represent Mars (where Gaia came from) and Earth where Gaia is going to.
